queenlyzard*smiles* I believe your hydrangea is actually another crepe myrtle. Also, Rose of Sharon are a dangerous thing to have. Lovely, yes, and easy to get blooming... but they also spread like wildfire. Beware the little green shoots-- they will cover your lawn in mini-Sharons, and are very hard to pull up after the first year or so.
uu_momThanks for the information about the Rose of Sharon. I don't know about the hydrangea - it may be something else, but it's not growing like a tree as most crape myrtles do - it's more of a spread-out bush, though the flowers do look similar & not as expected for a hydrangea.
